Conservative Radio Host Ben Shapiro Target Of Death Threats

A Washington man is in custody for allegedly making death threats against Los Angeles conservative Radio Host Ben Shapiro.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A man was arrested Wednesday in Washington state for allegedly making criminal threats against conservative radio host and blogger Ben Shapiro.

Los Angeles police took a report from a radio host it did not name and handed the matter over to the FBI, which made the arrest, according to Officer Jeff Lee of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section.

"Thanks to local and federal law enforcement for their quick and hard work here," Shapiro said on Twitter.

According to the FBI, the 27-year-old suspect, whose name was not immediately released, was arrested during a traffic stop in Kent, Washington, where he lives.

The arrest was made by FBI and U.S. Secret Service agents, with assistance from the Kent Police Department, according to FBI spokeswoman Jillian Voigt.

"The defendant faces charges related to threatening communications and is being held at Federal Detention Center SeaTac," Voigt said.

The man is due to appear Thursday afternoon in federal court in Seattle, she said.
