Councilmember Krekorian Announces Reward for Hit-and-Run That Killed Valley Glen Youth

David Granados, 18, was killed after a car hit him as he rode his bicycle on Bellaire Avenue at Oxnard Street.

Councilmember Paul Krekorian announced a $50,000 reward for information that could lead to the apprehension of suspects sought in a fatal hit-and-run in Valley Glen.

On March 24, 18-year-old David Granados was struck by a passing driver while he rode his bike in Valley Glen. The driver fled the scene and David died later that day.

Anyone with information on the accident or the hit-and-run driver is urged to contact the LAPD's Valley Traffic Division at (818) 644-8063.

Granados was killed after a car hit him as he rode his bicycle on Bellaire Avenue at Oxnard Street. Police said the vehicle ran a red light as the suspect was driving west on Oxnard Street before hitting Granados, then drove off without stopping to help. Granados died in a hospital the next day.

Krekorian, with members of the victim’s family and the LAPD, announced the reward Tuesday morning with LAPD Det. William F. Bustos. (See the video above.)
