Ed Begley Jr. Lands 'Betas' Series

Local actor and activist Ed Begley Jr. is starring in a new show that’s called cross between Friends and The Big Bang Theory.
Begley’s show Betas is one of the new pilots planned for Amazon Prime for the company’s Instant Video catalog. It’s one of 14 shows greenlighted for the online movie distributor especially after Netflix’s success with Kevin Spacey’s House of Cards.
This computer geek half-hour comedy is about a group of four computer geeks looking to make it big in Silicon Valley.

Betas will star Begley as well as Jon Daly (Kroll Show), Joe Dinicol (The L.A. Complex), Margo Harshman (The Big Bang Theory), Charlie Saxton (Hung) and Karan Zonie (The Neighbors). It is being directed and produced by Dexter’s Michael Lehmann; also producing are Alan Freedland and Alan Cohen of King of the Hill, as well as Michael London of Sideways.
Betas is written by Josh Stoddard and Evan Endicott.
