Hit & Run Driver Sheers Fire Hydrant, Knocks Out Power In Valley
An hit and run driver fled a crash in which the car sheered a hydrant, knocked down a power pole, flipped and landed atop another car.

VALLEY VILLAGE, CA — Police are searching Friday for a driver who fled after losing control of a vehicle, shearing a fire hydrant and knocking down a power pole in Valley Village.
It happened around 11:15 p.m. Thursday in the 12500 block of Magnolia Boulevard, according to Officer Norma Eisenman of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations office.
The suspect was last seen running northbound on Corteen Place and is believed to be injured, Eisenman said.

The crash caused the car to flip over and land on another vehicle, reported NBC4. It also brought down power lines on top of the two cars, sparking a fire, according to NBC4.
About 2,000 Los Angeles Department of Water and Power customers were without electricity overnight, but their power had been restored by about 7 a.m., according to the LADWP.
