Jerry's Deli Resets Fire Alarms
Late-lunch crowd disrupted by high-pitched fire alarms.
Why was that long hook-and-ladder truck blocking a lane in front of Jerry's Famous Deli in Studio City this afternoon?
Well, at about 1:44 this afternoon, the fire alarm went off and an ear-piercing series of beeps brought out the Los Angeles Fire Department. It's happened before, and the alarm needs to be re-set from the roof, according to fire department spokesperson Ron Myers at the scene.
"Everything is OK, we just have to reset the alarm, and have to do that on the roof," Myers said.

In the 80-degree heat, firefighters in full gear went up the ladder and onto Jerry's roof which also houses the PINZ Bowling Lanes.
Meanwhile, despite the persistent alarms, customers were still sitting down for the pastrami on rye with the curly fries.
