Krekorian (and New App) Will Help You Find Parking

Councilmember Paul Krekorian announced the roll-out of a smart-phone app that lists real-time meter and garage information in Studio City.

Los Angeles City Councilmember Paul Krekorian braved the rain on Ventura Boulevard in Studio City Wednesday morning to announce the release of something magnificently life-improving: Parker, a real-time parking application that alerts you to parking spots nearby.

Krekorian was joined by Dan Mitchell of the Los Angeles City Department of Transportation, and Zia Yusuf, whose company created the smart-phone app.

Parker gives real-time parking information and lists open metered parking spaces and garages in the area. The app is currently free; the best way to find it is to search for "Streetline" in your phone's app store.

“We are making parking easier and helping people get where they are going faster,” Krekorian said.

“I’m pleased that Studio City will benefit from this innovation, which can save time and money while reducing pollution and traffic congestion," said Krekorian. "Our goal is always to keep residents better informed - something that the City and Streetline have achieved with this free app.”
