Kriser's Launches 2nd Annual Contest to Provide Pet Shelter Groups More than $100,000

Approximately 12 million animals enter shelters nationwide every year, with annual costs of basic supplies such as food, medical care and training costs reaching up to $700 per animal. 

, a multi-unit retailer specializing in all-natural pet food and supplies with 10 stores in Chicago, Denver and Southern California, recognizes the need animal shelters and rescue groups have for these supplies and is committed to helping them. 

Kriser’s announced that it will be hosting its 2^nd annual “Christmas in July” contest to collectively provide more than $100,000 in donations worth of food and supplies to pre-nominated shelters or animal rescue organizations across the three markets in which Kriser’s stores are located: Southern California, Chicago and Denver. Pet lovers can vote online for their favorite rescue group or shelter athttps://www.facebook.com/kriserspets from July 9 to July 23.

“Rescue organizations and shelters are near and dear to my heart because my two Shih Tzu mixes — Dr. Woo and Maggie — are both rescue pups,” said Kriser’s founder and CEO Brad Kriser. “Additionally, our team members across the country are all passionate about animal welfare and realize the difference we can make when we band together to help the cause. With the support of our partners such as Canidae, Merrick, and California Natural, the donation of food and supplies will help the staffs of the winning organizations provide their animals the best in natural food and care possible.”

Three winners will be selected from each Kriser’s market: Chicago, Denver and Southern California. Winners in each market will receive donations of natural pet food and supplies worth the following amounts:

• Grand prize: $20,000
• 2^nd prize: $10,000
• 3^rd prize: $5,000
