The School Site Council for Valley View Elementary School was elected this week, and Principal Susan Kim said, "I'm very happy that this is a group of people who have been members for a long time as well as new parents to the school." The council is mandated by the Los Angeles Unified School District and has an equal amount of staff and parents to make major decisions on budgetary items. The new council is comprised of president Kelly Cole, vice president Terry Maloy, secretary Caroline Pinkey, and parliamentarian Gretchen Garrett, who is the fifth grade teacher. Other teacher members include Susie Reisman, Mary Alvy, Jessica Hoeschen, staff member Rita Grigoryan and principal Kim.  Other parent members include PTA president Bonnie George, Harriett O'Kelley and Marcia Tillman.
