Studio City Grass Fire Threatens Garage

Los Angeles firefighters did aggressive battle with a grass fire in Studio City to protect a nearby garage Wednesday evening.

STUDIO CITY, CA — Firefighters quickly doused a non-injury grass fire Wednesday that briefly threatened a garage in Studio City.

The fire, which burned around a half-acre, was reported about 4:40 p.m. in the 3800 block of Vineland Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The blaze started behind a home and threatened to spread to a garage, but crews kept it from damaging the structure, the LAFD's Margaret Stewart said.

Fifty-eight firefighters responded and knocked down the flames in 36 minutes, Stewart said.
