Universal Studios Guests Will Need Vaccine Proof Or Negative Test
The LA County Health Department's new order applies to theme parks, as they are considered "outdoor mega-events" with over 10,000 attendees.

STUDIO CITY, CA — Universal Studios Hollywood must soon require that its visitors show proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or a recent negative coronavirus test under the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health's new order.
The modified health order, which takes effect on Oct. 7, mandates that everyone at an outdoor "mega-event" in the county – anything attended by more than 10,000 people – provide proof of vaccination or show a negative test taken within 72 hours of the event.
A Los Angeles health official told Spectrum News 1 that theme parks would be part of the new order.

A spokesperson for Universal Studios Hollywood told KTLA that the company is still reviewing the county's new guidance.
"Theme parks have not been categorized as mega-event venues in previous county health orders and have different operational capabilities and practices," the spokesperson told KTLA. "We are reviewing the updated order with health officials with that context in mind."
Department of Public Health officials are prepared to offer all large venues and organizers of mega events technical assistance to implement the requirements, the department said in a news release announcing the updated mandate.
The order will also apply to Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, but not Disneyland Park, Disney's California Adventure Park or Knott's Berry Farm, as they are located in Orange County.
