Valley View Newsletter: New Logo, Last School Site Council & More News
News from that little elementary school in the Cahuenga Pass.
Introducing... Drumroll please... our NEW PANTHER LOGO!
Created by Valley View parent,Shaunt Nigoghossian. Take a bow!
In the coming weeks, you'll see requests for volunteers and work beginning on the wall mural. The kids have been working hard creating artful animals which will be incorporated into the wall mural.

Hopefully we'll see the NEW PANTHER LOGO featured prominently on campus some time after the mural is completed.
Please come to the Fundraising meeting this Wednesday 5/23 at 8am (in lieu of the PTA meeting). If you've ever had an idea or a suggestion about how we raise money to fund critical services at Valley View through the PTA, now is the time to give those ideas a chance to shine. We will brainstorm new ideas for next year, discuss what has worked and what could be improved, and ask for renewed commitment to your fundraising energies.

Please note the new DONATE link on the newsletter and website which points to a PayPal donation page for Valley View. We still prefer checks to avoid the convenience fee, so we can use more of the money you donate, but it does allow another way to accept donations, particularly for our neighbors and community members who aren't on campus to drop off a check. And hopefully if it's more convenient, we'll get MORE DONATIONS!
The Lost & Found pile is growing bigger by the day! Especially with the warmer weather, the kids are shedding their outerwear regularly! Please take a few minutes to look through and find these poor items, who are patiently waiting for their owners to bring them home.Did you hear? Our LA's Best Drill Team won FIRST PLACE for the Props&Novelty Division in a Dance Competition against 12 other schools last weekend! Congratulations to our talented girls and their coaches!
YEARBOOKS The Yearbooks are coming, the Yearbooks are coming!
If you have pre-ordered your yearbook, expect to see it coming home with your child any day now. If you did not pre-order, it's not too late. Yearbooks will be sold each day after school or you can drop by the office to fill out an order form.
Hurry... limited availability, only while supplies last!
Can you imagine our school without a library? It almost happened! Check out the yearbook tribute, and you'll see how truly close we were!
Our PTA voted unanimously to fund the library, and to begin finding solutions to fund teaching assistants who are also due to be cut next year by the district. But that's where the work begins. Please help save our library and our TAs with a donation to the Victory Drive fundraising campaign. You should have received an envelope in your child's backpack, additional copies are in the office, and you can click here to download a donation form.
TALENT SHOW Valley View's Got Talent!
The rehearsals are going great and the kids are blowing us away! We will continue rehearsing Mondays and Wednesdays after school in the library.
Rehearsal is mandatory unless there is a valid excuse. If your child has an appointment, needs to catch a bus or has a time constraint, please let us know, and we will have them go at the beginning. We value this opportunity to watch the children participate in the process. We are proud of their hard work and support their bravery! Thank you so much!

This camp is unique in that it is a small, homegrown start up with lots of heart, and the only Spanish language immersion program in the area for five to ten year olds.
Summer is a terrific time to quench the thirst that parents have for their child to experience something new and different while gaining skills that will last a lifetime. We offer Spanish language instruction as a course of engaging in the activities that all kids love (please see pdf attached and website.)
Better yet we will have options for continuing the progress during the school year as afterschool programs. Add to this the option (lowest tutoring rates in the area) for group or individual tutoring in English Lang Art and Math in the relaxed comfortable environment of our camp and you have got the perfect mix for the summer doldrums. So the price is right (only $250 for M-F , 9-4pm) and the time is now. We are offering free trial classes this month!
