Young Woman Killed In Valley Glen Area; Boyfriend Reportedly Arrested
A 24-year-old woman was shot in what a 9-1-1 caller reported as a suicide. Police arrested the caller on suspicion of murder.
VAN NUYS, CA — A 24-year-old woman was shot to death Wednesday in the Valley Glen area, and police arrested a 24-year-old man believed to be her boyfriend on suuspicion of murder.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Alondra Flores died at the scene of the shooting near Ranchito Avenue and Oxnard Street shortly after 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Police allege that Ryan Vintch called police and said that Flores had shot herself before he fled the scene into a nearby residence. Though he claimed the shooting was a suicde, investigators determined her injuries were inconsistent with a self-inflicted gunshot, according to the LAPD.

Police arrested Vintch on suspicion of murder and recovered a handgun "that will be forensically processed and booked as evidence." Vintch was booked into the LAPD's Van Nuys Community Police Station jail and was being held without bail.
A motive for the shooting was not immediately known. However, Fox 11 reported that Vintch was Flores' boyfriend.
