2 Arrested For Stealing Catalytic Converter In Suisun City

The "freshly cut catalytic converter" and tools were seized from the pair's vehicle after a police stop, officials said.

SUISUN CITY, CA — Two individuals, suspected of catalytic-converter theft, were arrested Saturday morning after Suisun City police followed up on a resident's tip.

Officers were called at about 4 a.m. by a neighbor reporting "suspicious activity" and a possible catalytic-converter theft in progress, the Suisun City Police Department said.

Police went to the neighborhood, spotted and stopped a vehicle matching the suspect description.

"In between the front passenger's legs was a freshly cut catalytic converter, as well as tools needed to commit the crimes," officials said.

The two suspects were booked and charged with a variety of charges, the department said.
