Antioch Suspect Leads Police Pursuit Onto Hiking Trail
A stolen Ford Ranger turns onto the Delta de Anza Regional Trail during a police chase. At that point, pursuing officers stop the pursuit.

ANTIOCH - A suspect driving a stolen truck evaded police officers during a brief pursuit by driving on a hiking trail in Antioch, according to a police report released today.
On Thursday at 2:32 a.m., an Antioch police officer conducted a traffic stop on a Ford Ranger that blew through a stop sign on Carpinteria Drive, according to police.
The motorist did slow to pull over and nearly stopped at Carpinteria and Garrow drives, but then sped away, according to police.

The truck almost immediately turned onto the Delta de Anza Regional Trail, damaging a gate to the hiking path, according to police. The pursuing officers terminated the chase.
When the officers later checked with the owner of the truck, it was determined that it had recently been stolen. Antioch police were not immediately available to provide further details on the incident.
