Arrest Made In Fairfield Murder Case
Police arrested a 20-year-old man Tuesday afternoon in connection with a fatal shooting that happened in Fairfield a couple of months ago.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA -- Police arrested a 20-year-old man this afternoon in connection with a fatal shooting that happened in March in Fairfield.
After investigating the homicide for months, officers were able to identify the suspect as Jefferson Tara of Fairfield, according to police.
At about 2 p.m. on May 16, officers located Tara in the 2400 block of Lighthouse Court and arrested him on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, police said.

Tara, pictured above, is accused of fatally shooting 51-year-old Raymond Lee McDonald of Fairfield on March 14 at about 9:45 p.m. in the 1300 block of West Texas Street, according to police.
Officers initially responded to the location for a report about a shooting.

Once at the scene, emergency responders administered life-saving efforts to McDonald. McDonald, however, was taken to a trauma center where he died, police said.
Tara has been booked into the Solano County Jail.
