North Bay-Based Credit Union Makes Large Food Bank Donation
A portion of the $33,000 donation to the Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano was raised directly by employees through fundraisers.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA -- A locally based financial institution has made a substantial monetary donation to a regional organization dedicated to helping the hungry.
Pacific Service Credit Union, which has branches in counties throughout California, ended 2016 by making a $33,000 donation to the Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano. A portion of the proceeds was raised directly by PSCU employees through fundraisers.
A check from Pacific Service CU was presented to the Food Bank in December. Since 2001, Pacific Service Credit Union has donated nearly $300,000 to the Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano, which has locations in Concord and Fairfield.

In addition, back in November, PSCU presented a check for $8,000 to the Richmond-based Bay Area Rescue Mission to buy turkey dinners for families in need during the Thanksgiving holiday. PSCU also distributed over $1,000 in toys to the Concord-based Bay Area Crisis Nursery, which provides short-term residential care for families with children.
In 2016, Pacific Service Credit Union was ranked 78th in the Bay Area by the San Francisco Business Times for corporate philanthropy and donated over $130,000 to charities and non-profit organizations.
