Bicyclist In Saturday Fairfield Crash Is Identified

The Fairfield man is expected to survive major injuries he sustained when his bicycle struck a vehicle driven by an alleged transient.

FAIRFIELD - The 33 year-old bicyclist who suffered major injuries Saturday night when he struck a vehicle in Fairfield has been identified by police.

Fairfield Police say local resident Lucas York is expected to survive injuries sustained when the bicycle he was riding crashed into a vehicle driven by 47-year-old Gary Berg, a man police consider a transient.

The accident happened in the 600 block of East Tabor Avenue just before 9:00 p.m.

Fairfield Police say that when they arrived, they found York suffering from severe injuries from the crash.

Berg, the driver, was arrested and booked into the Solano County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs causing injury.
