The Fairfield police bomb squad has cleared the scene and told residents of an apartment complex that they can return to their homes after an investigation involving an incendiary device in front of the police
department.

The all-clear was announced by police at about 8:40 a.m.

The situation in the 2900 block of North Texas Street was reported in a statement just before 7 a.m.

Police did not release details of the investigation or explain how the apartment complex might have been involved with the incident at the police department.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA -- Fairfield police are at an apartment complex with a bomb squad Friday morning as part of an investigation of a previous incident involving an incendiary device being released in front of the police department.

The situation was reported in a statement just before 7 a.m. and is taking place in the 2900 block of North Texas Street.

Nearby residents can expect to hear loud pops, according to police, and residents of some neighboring apartments have been evacuated.
