Commercial Burglary Suspect Arrested In Nearby Fairfield

Fairfield police have arrested a suspect in two commercial business burglaries that took place on West Texas Street.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA -- Police have arrested a suspect in two commercial business burglaries last week on West Texas Street in Fairfield.

Emilio Gutierrez, 40, of Fairfield, is suspected of burglaries at businesses that sell electronics in the 1900 and 2100 blocks of West Texas Street early Friday morning, Lt. Rob Lenke said.

A security monitoring company notified police at 5:40 a.m. Friday, March 24 about a burglary at the business in the 1900 block. Police found the front window broken and the interior ransacked, Lenke said.

Police broadcast a photo of the suspect taken by a security camera and a description of the suspect, and a Fairfield community service officer saw someone who met the description in the 600 block of Beck Avenue around 6:35 a.m., according to Lenke.

The community service officer directed police to the suspect's location and Gutierrez was found with evidence linking him to the burglary.

Police found electronics items that were taken from vehicles belonging to the business in the 1900 block of West Texas Street in Gutierrez's backpack, Lenke said.

Gutierrez was arrested on suspicion of commercial burglary, possession of stolen property, tampering with a vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia and violating his probation, Lenke said.
