Dump Junk For Free: Here's How In Fairfield On Saturday

The Fairfield Quality of Life Task Force has scheduled another neighborhood clean-up event for Saturday. It's a great chance to dump junk.

FAIRFIELD - Fairfield residents will have another chance to do some serious clean up this weekend, when unwanted furniture, large household items, unused electronics, and trash or debris can be discarded for free at a downtown Fairfield location.

Beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, residents can dump their items in one of ten large Republic Services trash receptacle bins placed throughout a neighborhood near the Berean Baptist Church, located at 1147 Broadway Street.

The Fairfield Quality of Life Task Force organizes these neighborhood clean-ups.

Organizers say you'll also be able to safely shred personal documents on Saturday.

The United Cerebral Palsy’s Gone for Good, a free local document shredding service, is available for residents to dispose of personal documents in a safe and secure way.

Gone for Good will be in the City parking lot located at 1044 Missouri Street, according to the task force.

Property owners, apartment residents, property management companies, and businesses located in the downtown neighborhood bordered by these streets are encouraged to participate and get involved in beautifying the neighborhood.

Organizers say a free barbeque lunch will be provided by the Fairfield Professional Firefighters Association at the Berean Baptist Church for participants immediately following the Clean-up.
