Fairfield Carjacking, Shooting: 2 Arrests Made

An 18-year-old and a 16-year-old, both of Fairfield, have been arrested in connection with a June 1 carjacking and shooting, police said.

FAIRFIELD, CA — Police in Fairfield have arrested two suspects in connection with an attempted carjacking and shooting that occurred earlier this month. Isaiah Taylor, 18, and a 16-year-old juvenile, both from Fairfield, were arrested on suspicion of several crimes related to the incident, according to the Fairfield Police Department.

Police have not identified the juvenile.

On June 1 at around 4 p.m., the suspects attempted to rob and carjack four people in the area of Wilson Street and Bell Avenue, police said.

One of the suspects shot the driver of the vehicle during the incident, police said.

Following the shooting, the suspects fled the area on foot.

The driver, who suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, was able to start the vehicle and drive away.

Police were able to identify Taylor and the juvenile as suspects in the crime.

Taylor was taken into custody on Wednesday, and the juvenile was taken into custody on Thursday.
