Fairfield DUI Checkpoint Announced For This Weekend

Fair warning. If you're driving through Fairfield this weekend and you've had a drink or two, your happy mood could quickly change.

FAIRFIELD - Fair warning. If you're driving through Fairfield on Saturday night and you've had a drink or two, your mood could quickly change from happy to sad if you pull up to the DUI checkpoint that will be in full swing most of the evening.

It would be smart on Saturday night in Fairfield to have a designated driver.

The California Highway Patrol says it will be conducting a Sobriety/Driver License Checkpoint in Fairfield on Saturday, May 21 at an unannounced location.

The checkpoint will be set up from approximately 7:00 p.m. until midnight.

The CHP says as long as traffic volume permits it, all vehicles will be checked going through the checkpoint, and drivers who are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs can expect to be arrested.

Motorists without a valid driver license can expect to receive a citation, according to the CHP, and potentially have their vehicle impounded.
