FAIRFIELD, CA — Fairfield firefighters quickly extinguished a kitchen fire at a home Monday afternoon and revived three of four kittens they found there, fire officials said. The fire at 1941 Cardinal Way was reported around 12:20 p.m. It burned cabinets and the ceiling above a stove and caused smoke damage to the rest of the two-story house, Fairfield Fire Department Battalion Chief Andy Cranston said.
The fire was knocked down in less than five minutes. One person in the home escaped safely, Cranston said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
