Fairfield Man Dies In Martinez I-680 Crash
A 52-year-old Fairfield man died in a traffic crash on southbound Interstate Highway 680 Sunday afternoon in Martinez, according to the CHP.
MARTINEZ - A 52-year-old Fairfield man died in a traffic crash on southbound Interstate Highway 680 Sunday afternoon in Martinez, California Highway Patrol officials said.
The crash was reported at 3:11 p.m. on I-680 just north of Marina Vista Avenue.
The man allowed his 1999 GMC pickup drift into a concrete center divider several times and cross multiple lanes of traffic until the truck came to rest on the right shoulder of the highway, according to CHP officials.

The man was unconscious and unresponsive when first responders got to him. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.
It does not appear drugs or alcohol played a part in the crash, but a medical emergency may have preceded it, CHP officials said.
