That'sΒ howΒ Fairfield police announced to localΒ residents, via Twitter,Β that officers were performing a rescue - of a kitten.

"Anyone can climb a tree to rescue a cat. Rescuing one from a storm drain takes talent,"Β Fairfield Police Officer Kathryn McCormick tweeted next,

as anxious feline lovers stood mere clicks away, atwitter with theΒ tweets.

AsΒ Public Works department employees showed up, the event became a web event, complete with play-by-play.

Three hours and "several ideas" later, the kitten isΒ seen being pulled from the drainageΒ hole, apparentlyΒ safe and healthy -Β  based on a loud andΒ robust voice -Β and nowΒ on the way to the vet.
