Fiery Crash in Fairfield Has I-80 Traffic Snarled

A fiery crash is blocking three lanes of eastbound Interstate Highway 80 and two of the westbound lanes in Fairfield this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The solo-vehicle collision, which happened on eastbound I-80 just before Air Base Parkway, was reported at about at 6:30 a.m and continues to have lanes closed eastbound at Waterman Blvd.  

The collision involved a pick-up truck pulling a trailer.

CHP Officer Ron Simmons said the vehicle caught fire after the
accident.

As of 7:50 a.m., a second accident has east and westbound routes slow near Travis Blvd. Expect delays.
