Anthony Blas Fejarang, 57, was sentenced this week in the murder of 3-year-old Clark Toshiro Handa, abducted from his home Aug. 22, 1984.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — A state prison inmate was sentenced Tuesday in Solano County Superior Court to 25 years to life in prison for the first-degree murder of a 3-year-old boy during a kidnapping in 1984. Michael Anthony Blas Fejarang, 57, was serving a 26-year prison sentence related to a 2002 child molestation case in Solano County when he was arrested for the murder of Clark Toshiro Handa.
The toddler was abducted from his bedroom at his home on Magellan Road, now Auto Mall Parkway, on Aug. 22, 1984. A ransom note demanding money for the boy's safe return was discovered but there was no further contact with the family and the boy was never returned.
Fairfield police and the FBI worked on the case for years but it remained a cold case homicide, prosecutors said.

Fairfield police and the FBI reopened the case in 2011 and police developed information that led to the identification of Fejarang as the abduction suspect. Detectives learned Fejarang planned the kidnapping for ransom and killed Handa shortly after he was abducted.
