Man Accused of Killing 13-Year-Old Suisun City Girl Pleads Not Guilty
Anthony Lemar Jones, 32, is charged with murder with several special circumstances, including that the murder was committed during a kidnapping and a rape.

A man accused of sexually assaulting and killing a 13-year-oldΒ Suisun City girl pleaded not guilty to murder in a Fairfield courtroom today.Β

Prosecutors have said they intend to pursue capital punishment inΒ the case, and the special-circumstance allegations make Jones eligible forΒ the death penalty if he is convicted.Β
The body of his alleged victim, Genelle Conway-Allen, was foundΒ unclothed in a parking lot at Allan Witt Park in Fairfield at about 6:45 a.m.Β on Feb. 1.

Jones was arrested for the killing a week later in the 1100 blockΒ of East Tabor Avenue in Fairfield, and is being held without bail in SolanoΒ County Jail.
Genelle was in foster care at the time of her death. A gravesideΒ memorial service for her is planned this afternoon in Benicia.Β
The homeless man who found her body, Eric May, attended today'sΒ court hearing.
"I really want to see that Genelle gets justice," he said.
After the hearing, he showed reporters a silver bracelet he wasΒ wearing on which he had gotten Genelle's name engraved.
"I'm really shaken by this," he said, as he appeared to tremble.
He said he does not plan to attend Genelle's memorial because heΒ fears he would be overwhelmed by it. Β
Kevin Gaye, 25, of Fairfield, a customer at a barber shop where Jones worked briefly about a year ago, was also at today's hearing.Β
He said he didn't know Jones well but used to say hello to himΒ when he would get his hair cut. Β
Jones will next appear in court on Feb. 27, when future hearingsΒ will be scheduled.
