Man Arrested In Connection With Fatal Shooting

Investigators believe the victim knew his shooter, and a short time after the call, police said they spotted the suspect nearby.

FAIRFIELD, CA — A 21-year-old man was arrested in Fairfield on Sunday on suspicion of the fatal shooting of another man, police said.

Just after 1 p.m., police learned of a shooting in the 2000 block of Cambridge Drive. Officers arrived to find a 40-year-old man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was declared deceased at the scene.

Investigators believe the victim knew his shooter, and a short time after the call, police said they spotted the suspect nearby. The Fairfield resident was arrested.

Police have not released any more information at this time so as to preserve the integrity of the case, they said.
