Man Who Discovered Suisun City Girl's Body Tells His Story

Eric May spoke to the Daily Republic this week, telling them he hopes to keep the girl's memory alive.

The man who found the body of a teenage Suisun City girl in Allan Witt Park last FridayΒ told his story to the Fairfield Daily RepublicΒ this week.

His name isΒ Eric May and he is 54 years old. He told the Daily Republic that he made the girl a promise:Β Β β€œUntil my dying breath, I’m going to keep her memory alive.”

May flagged down a police officer around 6:45 a.m. last Friday and directed the officer to the girl's body, Officer Cleo Mayoral said. Here's a bit from the Daily Republic story:Β 

Heading to the back of park, along the Woolner Avenue side, he said he saw what appeared to be a mannequin between some trees in the parking lot. He said he walked by it once ... Something told him to look again. As he drew nearer, May said he realized it was a body.

The death is being investigated as a homicide and the area whereΒ she was located remained closed for investigation this afternoon, MayoralΒ said.
