North Bay Elementary School Locked Down After Shooting

BREAKING: An elementary school in Solano County was placed on lockdown after a person was shot about a block away.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA -- A Fairfield elementary school was locked down the afternoon of Feb. 28 after a man was shot about a block away.

The victim was shot at about 1:20 p.m. in the 2800 block of Mankas Boulevard, about a block away from K.I. Jones Elementary School at 2001 Winston Dr., police say.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment, and the school was briefly placed on lockdown to make sure all students were safe, police said.

The lockdown has since been lifted, but Mankas Boulevard remained closed for a time afterward due to the police investigation.
