North Bay Man Arrested In Walnut Creek Assault With Deadly Weapon Case
A Suisun City man was identified as the suspect and then arrested in Las Vegas, police said.
WALNUT CREEK, CA — A Suisun City man was recently arrested in Las Vegas on suspicion of assaulting a man with a deadly weapon in Walnut Creek, police said Sunday.
The assault was initially reported as a disturbance shortly after 12:30 a.m. March 2 in the 1500 block of North Main Street but when officers arrived they found a person on the ground suffering from a head wound, Walnut Creek police Lt. Drew Olson said.
The assailant was gone when the police got there. The initial investigation revealed the victim was struck in the head with the stock end of a rifle, Olson said.

The case was assigned to detectives and through an exhaustive investigation, they identified the suspect in the assault as 28-year-old Suisun City resident Malcolm Harris.
Walnut Creek PD presented the case to the Contra Costa District Attorney’s office which charged Harris with assault with a machine gun or assault weapon, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of an assault weapon, Olson said.

A warrant was issued for Harris’ arrest and he was taken into custody in Las Vegas by the Las Vegas Metro Police Department.
Harris was transferred to Contra Costa County and was booked in county jail April 22. He remained in custody Monday without bail and was set to appear in court Tuesday.
