Pedestrian Hit By Suspected DUI Driver In Fairfield, Police Say

The pedestrian was hospitalized in serious condition following the collision on West Texas Street, police said.

FAIRFIELD, CA — A 54-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after hitting a pedestrian with his vehicle in Fairfield early Monday morning, police said. Fairfield resident Alfred Hardwick was arrested after a collision that occurred at about 1 a.m. in the 1600 block of West Texas Street and involved two vehicles and a pedestrian, police said in a news release.

The 34-year-old woman from Fairfield whom Hardwick hit was taken to a hospital in serious condition but was expected to recover, according to police.

The westbound lanes of West Texas Street were closed as a result of the investigation into the collision, police said.
