Police: Gun Jams As Woman Tries To Kill Officer
About 7 a.m. Monday, Suisun City officers responded to a report that a woman was pointing a handgun at a newspaper delivery person.

SUISUN CITY - A 34-year-old woman was arrested Monday morning on suspicion of attempted murder after she allegedly tried to shoot a Suisun City police officer.
At 7:13 a.m., officers responded to a report that a woman was pointing a handgun at a newspaper delivery person at an apartment complex in the 1400 block of Humphrey Drive, according to police.
Upon arrival, officers located the woman, identified as Suisun City resident Desiree Hinton.

Officers observed Hinton arguing with a different person, unarmed.
Officers tried to detain Hinton, however she rain into her apartment, police said.

Inside, Hinton allegedly reached underneath a couch, retrieved a handgun and pointed it at one of the officers' chest. When the officer grabbed the firearm, a struggle ensued.
During the struggle, Hinton tried pulling the trigger several times while making threats about killing the officer, according to police. The handgun, however, jammed and did not fire.
The officer was able to retrieve the handgun and arrest Hinton.
She was booked into the Solano County Jail, police said.
