The sheriff's office received a tip that Brian Duvauchelle, 41, was entering his residence in the 1600 block of Meadowlark Drive in Fairfield, Lt. Brad DeWall said Duvauchelle was known to be a parolee-at-large who violated his parole terms by removing his GPS monitoring device he is required to wear because he is a sex offender, DeWall said.

Sheriff's detectives saw Duvauchelle drive away from his residence in a tan Ford Explorer, and an attempt to stop him failed when he sped away, DeWall said.

Detectives pursued Duvauchelle who was driving 80-90 mph until he lost control of the Ford and crashed into a sound wall at Westgate Drive and Foxboro Road in Vacaville, DeWall said.

He was taken into custody after a brief struggle with deputies and taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries he suffered in the collision, DeWall said.

Duvauchelle was then booked in the Solano County jail on a parole warrant, reckless driving, fleeing police, hit-and-run, failing to register as a sex offender and driving on a suspended license, DeWall said. He is being held under no bail.
