The Fairfield Police Department’s Family Violence Unit will be conducting a Community Shaken Baby Prevention Presentation. If you are a new or expecting parent, an infant care provider, babysitter, or industry professional, this powerful presentation will show you the damaging effects that shaking a baby causes to the brain. Learn ways to cope with an inconsolable baby and let us help you set up a plan to succeed.
Studies have shown that on average, in 100,000 children under one year suffered abusive brain trauma, with approximately 1,300 suffering fatal injuries every year. The presentation, using a RealCare Shaken Baby Simulator, will demonstrate the devastating effect of shaking an infant.
