Solo Car Crash On Highway 505 Kills Man From Nearby Fairfield

SOLANO COUNTY, CA -- The Solano County coroner's office has identified a driver who died in a solo vehicle crash early Tuesday morning in north Vacaville as Rudy Lee Carabajal III, 39, of Fairfield.

Carabajal was driving a 2008 Honda Civic south on Interstate Highway 505 south of Vaca Valley Parkway around 2:40 a.m. on March 28 when the car drifted off the right shoulder, drove through a fence and struck two trees, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The Honda split in half and Carabajal was ejected. He was pronounced dead by paramedics at 2:53 a.m.

High speed is being considered as a factor in the collision, which remains under investigation, according to the CHP.
