Suisun Woman Arrested In Vehicle Burglary, Suspected Of More: PD

FAIRFIELD, CA — A 25-year-old Suisun City woman has been arrested on suspicion of breaking into a vehicle in a parking lot on May 18 and allegedly being tied to other vehicle burglaries in the area, according to Fairfield police. Police said Taysha Barksdale was arrested after police investigated the May 18 vehicle burglary and obtained a search warrant for her residence in Suisun City on Thursday.

The May 18 robbery allegedly occurred at the parking lot of a Barnes and Nobles bookstore in the 1600 block of Gateway Boulevard, police said. The victim told police that his vehicle had been broken into while he
was shopping.

A community service officer who was reporting the crime obtained surveillance footage from a nearby business and was able to identify a suspect, determine a vehicle used in the burglary — along with its license
plate number — which led to Barksdale.

The search of Barksdale's apartment in the 200 block of Railroad Avenue in Suisun City by Fairfield police found evidence that connected Barksdale to the May 18 auto burglary and possibly other thefts, police said.

Barksdale has been booked into the Solano County Jail.

Police credited Sportsman's Warehouse in Fairfield for allowing police to access its surveillance cameras despite none of its customers being directly affected by the auto burglary.
