Menifee Man Killed In Temecula Crash

The fatal "vehicle-versus-pedestrian" incident was reported Sunday night on Jefferson Avenue.

TEMECULA, CA — A pedestrian killed in a traffic collision over the weekend in Temecula was identified Monday by the coroner as a Menifee resident.

Michael McClellan, 56, died at the crash scene just after 7 p.m. Sunday.

According to a news release from the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Bureau, the crash was reported at Jefferson Avenue, about 616 feet south of Via Montezuma. The area, west of Interstate 15, is home to many industrial buildings.

Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department spokesperson Maggie Cline De La Rosa said crews on scene reported the crash as a "vehicle-versus-pedestrian" incident.

Riverside County Sheriff's Department spokesperson Sgt. Robert Martinez confirmed that McClellan was the pedestrian and that he died at the scene.
