Skate Park In Temecula Getting Multi-Million-Dollar Rehab
The city is investing in a complete refurbishment of the skate facility at Ronald Reagan Sports Park.
TEMECULA, CA — The skate park at Ronald Reagan Sports Park in Temecula is getting a multi-million-dollar makeover.
On Tuesday, the Temecula City Council is expected to award a $4,276,862 contract to Los Angeles-based Aster Construction Services for the work. The contract includes change orders up to $641,529.30 (15% of the contract amount).
According to city documents, the project at Ronald Reagan Sports Park (30875 Rancho Vista Road) is a $6.1 million reconstruction of the existing 30-plus-year-old skate park.

The work will consist of removing and replacing the existing skate park and installing "state-of-the-art street skate plaza elements," according to the documents.
Improvements include a modernized bowl, all-wheel area, several ADA-accessible features, three shade areas for spectators, upgraded LED lighting, electrical upgrades, drainage/water-quality improvements, new landscaping and irrigation, new fencing and pedestrian gate, and a new drinking fountain with a bottle filler.

Once the city gives Aster the green light to proceed, the contract calls for construction to be completed within 180 working days.
The rehab project has undergone a community and stakeholder outreach process that began on June 13, 2023. This was followed by an online community survey and a series of design workshops conducted between July 2023 and January 2024. The final concept plan was accepted on February 27, 2024.
The construction contract was put out to bid between September 9, 2025, and October
14, 2025. Twelve bids were received and publicly opened on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. Aster's was the lowest-cost bid, according to city documents.
