Union City Woman Arrested In San Ramon On Suspicion Of Shooting 17-Year-Old: Police
A Union City woman was arrested on suspicion of shooting a 17-year-old in San Ramon who she reportedly knew, police said.
UNION CITY, CA — San Ramon police arrested a 40-year-old woman from Union City on suspicion of shooting a 17-year-old in San Ramon.
On Sunday at around 6:18 p.m., San Ramon officers responded to Talavera Drive for reports of an injured 17-year-old. Emergency crews arrived to find the 17-year-old with a single gunshot wound to the upper shoulder. The victim was immediately transported to a local hospital, where they were treated and later released.
San Ramon detectives identified the suspect as Xiaojie Zhang, a 40-year-old female resident of Union City. Zhang was arrested by San Ramon officers at her home on a $1 million Ramey Warrant on charges of attempted homicide, San Ramon police said. Police said that detectives executed a search warrant of Zhang's residence, where they located two firearms.

She was booked at the Martinez Detention Facility.
Police said that the victim and suspect knew one another, but are not revealing more about the nature of the relationship.

Police continue to investigate, but say there is no continued threat to the San Ramon community.
