The unauthorized biography of mixed martial artist, Olympic bronze medallist and Venice resident Ronda Rousey debuts June 15.
The biography by Matt Demers simply titled, Ronda Rousey: A Biography, Unauthorized & Uncensored, will be released in paperback and in all major eBook formats on Barnes and Noble, Amazon, Kobo, Smashwords and iTunes.
According to a release, Rousey is the largest female pay-per-view draw in the history of sports, and UFC's first female champion. She is due to star in a reality TV series, The Ultimate Fighter, in September.
Rousey won a bronze medal for Judo at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, becoming the first American woman to win an Olympic medal in that sport.
Demer said in an official statement, “You don’t have to be a fan of the UFC to enjoy [this book. Rouse’s] life is a Rocky, comeback tale if there ever was one — going from barely surviving birth, struggling with speech, being an outcast in school, to experiencing an unmentionable childhood tragedy; going from that to the Olympics, uncovering a child molestation scandal, entering mixed martial arts and then finally dominating the competition. Men, women, fans, or not — Ronda’s story is something anyone can appreciate.”
