Deus Ex Machina Fundraiser for East Coast Surf Shop Devastated by Sandee

Come Sinners, Winners and Hodad's to the Deus Emporium of Post Modern Activities for this months Deus Sunday Mass. At this months mass we will be raising funds for our friends at Lightly Salted, a surf shop based in New Jersey.

Lightly Salted was seriously effected by Sandy and are currently trying to rebuild their shop. Come on down for BBQ, Beers and Tunes to support our friends from the other coast. Scott from Lightly Salted has put together some hand made screen prints of vintage body surf fins and handplanes for an exhibition he calls "Hand Job".

"It's grey and snowing outside here in NJ. It's been 100 days since sandy came and threw our lives for a fucking loop. the cold does not help the rebuilding efforts many of us are in the middle of. in the begining we (most of us) thought we were secure in the fact that our blood and sweat paid to the insurance companies to cover us in times like these are well worth the high preimums we bust our ass to cover each month. as the time streches further away from the storm more and more of us are feeling the fisting we are getting from the very people we paid to protect us and our interest. "Hand job" is my effort to try and get back to working in my own space. this effort mixes my gyotaku printing, and my feelings of being left out to dry by the insurance companies. my prints are a collection of handmade body surfing handplanes and my own collection of vintage swimfins. the pair are printed on koji paper, and printed with my homemade sumi ink. i did 3 prints of each fin and three prints of each handplane. they are meant to be together, paired up to have each others back. each print is an actual fingerprint of each fin and each handplane. keep them together, lay back and enjoy the hand job. thank you all for contributing to my efforts. stay warm."

Come down and buy a limited amount of prints, which all proceeds go towards the rebuild.

Thank you for supporting our friends and looking forward to seeing you all at Mass.
