Firefighters Battle Attic Fire At Empty West Los Angeles Home

Firefighters were battling flames at a vacant home in West Los Angeles early Wednesday, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

WEST LOS ANGELES, CA — Firefighters battled flames in the attic of an empty home early Wednesday in West Los Angeles.

It took firefighters about 24 minutes to attack and knock down the fire at 2206 South Greenfield Avenue, near West Olympic Boulevard, Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department said. No one was injured.

The fire was reported about 10:05 a.m. in the attic of the vacant 1,634 square foot, one-story home, Humphrey said.

The home was built in 1927 and was undergoing renovations, he said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
