VENICE, CA — Genies CEO Akash Nigam is moving to Venice and purchased a $4.27M home near Abbot Kinney, Forbes reports.

Nigam purchased the home from Craig Johnson, a partner with the Golden State Warriors basketball team.

"I was very patient throughout the last four months in looking for a house in Venice," Nigam said.

Location and health were top reasons for purchasing the pad, he added.

"I never found one that checked off all the boxes until I came across this ‘Zen den’" he said. "Lately, I’ve been prioritizing my mental health and well-being, and the house’s soothing architecture and immersion into a mini forest were as meditative as they could come. This entire house was built with natural light in mind and is a private getaway from all of the chaos, but still one block away from one of my favorite streets in L.A., Abbot Kinney [Boulevard]. David Hertz and Charles Ward, the architects, are two of the most notable architects on the West Side and mastermind geniuses. There isn’t one inch of this house that was compromised."

Nigam is the CEO of Genies, an innovative technology company and digital avatar app for tokenized digital collectibles known as NFTs. It was founded in 2017.

The modern home has two bedrooms and three bathrooms. It's 2,886 square feet and sits on a 5,200-square-foot lot. The CEO also has plans to convert the other structure on the property.

It features bright lighting throughout with floor-to-ceiling windows, beautiful exposed beams, chef's kitchen, pool, spa and a two-car garage. It has incredible concrete, polished details throughout.

The company and CEO have plans to stay in Venice.

"It’s one of the most expressive, creative communities in the entire world," he said. "We’ve now signed a new 20,000-square-foot office space to make it crystal clear [that] I’m happy to continue contributing to the L.A. tech community as we continue to establish the ever-growing metaverse space here through Genies, but also my personal future as well."
