Hahn, Huey to Face Off in Debate

Democrat Janice Hahn and Republican Craig Huey will debate each other on KPCC-FM on Thursday morning, ahead of their July 12 runoff race for the 36th District Congressional seat.

With less than a week to go before the runoff election, KPCC-FM will host the only debate between Republican and Democrat in their quest for the 36th Congressional District seat Thursday morning.

People can tune into 89.3 FM for the debate, which is scheduled to last for 30 minutes, at 10:30 a.m. Airtalk host Larry Mantle will moderate.

The station is also soliciting questions from listeners to ask the candidates. People can call 866-893-5722 during the debate or submit questions online.

The election will take place Tuesday.

Hahn, a Los Angeles councilwoman, and Huey, a Torrance businessman, are vying for the seat vacated by former Rep. Jane Harman, who resigned earlier this year to take a position with a think tank. The 36th Congressional District covers Mar Vista, Marina del Rey, Venice Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach.
