LAPD Asking Public To Identify Suspect In Brutal Attack On Video

The Los Angeles Police Department is asking the public's help to identify a suspect wearing a Dodgers jersey in a brutal attack on video.

VENICE, CA — LAPD detectives are asking the public's help to identify a man in a Dodgers jersey suspected in a violent attack captured on security video in Venice, officials announced this week.

The suspect was in a verbal altercation with the victim on Jan. 16 at 5 p.m. near the intersection of Washington and Speedway boulevards, Los Angeles police from the Pacific Division said.

The suspect punched the victim in the jaw, knocking him out and losing consciousness. He was taken to a hospital and treated for serious injuries following the attack.

Police describe the suspect as a white or Latino man, 25 to 30 years old, with black hair and a black beard. He is about 5'7" tall and weighs approximately 180 pounds.

He was wearing a white Los Angeles Dodgers jersey with the number 74 and the name “Jansen” on the back. He also had dark pants, white shoes, and was carrying a skateboard.
