VENICE, CA — Lifeguards and firefighters searched the water near the Venice Pier Tuesday evening after two swimmers were reported to be in distress. The swimmers were reported to be in trouble about 8:30 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, which sent a helicopter to the location to assist lifeguards in boats and crews on shore in the search.
