Man Arrested In Connection With Shooting At Venice Boardwalk

A 31-year-old man was arrested in connection with a shooting in Venice earlier this month, Los Angeles Police Department announced.

VENICE, CA — A 31-year-old man was arrested in connection with a shooting in Venice, the Los Angeles Police Department announced this week.

The shooting happened about 6:10 p.m. Sept. 8 in the 1700 block of Ocean Front Walk, according to Los Angeles police detectives from the Pacific Division.

The suspect and victim were arguing when the suspect grabbed a gun from his waistband and shot him in the arm and leg, police said. The suspect, along with two men and a woman, then drove away in a 2018 Nissan Altima, heading eastbound on Winward Avenue towards Pacific Avenue.

The victim was taken to a hospital and treated for gunshot wounds, police said.

"Pacific robbery and gang detectives investigated the shooting and located key evidence that helped identify the 2018 Nissan Altima, " police said.

LAPD police officers were patrolling the Central Division area in Los Angeles Sept. 11 and located the suspect vehicle, a 2018 Nissan Altima on Luther King Boulevard and Main Street.

James Feaster of New York was detained and later identified as a suspect in the Venice shooting, police said. He was arrested and booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

He was released on bond Wednesday and his next court date is slated for Oct. 13 at LAX Superior Court.
