Man's Body Discovered in Venice, Foul Play Not Suspected

The man's body was discovered around noon on Tuesday on Lincoln and Palms boulevards.

A man's body was found today in Venice,  but foul play was not suspected, authorities said.

The body was discovered about noon near Lincoln and Palms boulevards,
said coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter. The death was being investigated as
possibly accidental or due to natural causes, he said.

The name of the man, in his 50s, was withheld pending notification of
his relatives.

According to @Venice311 scanner reports the man in question was a white transient named “Spirit” whose body was found across from the 7-11 on Lincoln and Palms today.

According to Venice311 the man died two days ago and his “crew” left him on the sidewalk due to the heavy Memorial Day traffic.

It is believed a local security guard learned of the man's death from the local drunks and reported it.
